THR and Bvlgari Celebrate Emmy-Nominated (and Emmy-Winning) Costume Designers
The Emmys for costume design may have been presented at last weekend’s Creative Arts ceremony, but The Hollywood Reporter and Bvlgari kept the celebrations going leading up to Monday’s primetime show.

THR and Bvlgari teamed up to honor this year’s distinguished costume designers and Emmy Award winners, in partnership with the Costume Designers Guild, at the Chateau Marmont penthouse. The teams behind Fallout, The Boys, Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette and Margo’s Got Money Troubles were among those in attendance, as dozens of costume designers mingled and talked shop at the mid-day event.
Five costume design prizes were handed out at the non-televised Creative Arts Emmys on Sept. 5 and 6, with the Beef team winning for outstanding contemporary costumes for a limited or anthology series or movie, Margo’s Got Money Troubles for outstanding contemporary costumes for a series and The Masked Singer for outstanding costumes for variety, nonfiction or reality programming. Fallout landed the top prize for outstanding fantasy/sci-fi costumes, and Palm Royale took home the statue for outstanding period costumes.
Many of the winners stopped by the celebration, sipping on signature cocktails and juices, munching on tray-passed appetizers and posing for pictures on the hotel’s iconic balcony overlooking the city. Other big-name costume designers like Mark Bridges (a two-time Oscar winner for The Artist and Phantom Thread), Trish Summerville (who created iconic looks for The Hunger Games movies), Michelle Cole (a five-time Emmy nominee for Black-ish and In Living Color), Mona May (famous for her work on Clueless), Lou Eyrich (a longtime Ryan Murphy collaborator) and Costume Designers Guild president Terry Gordon helped round out the guest list.
Halfway through the reception, Bvlgari’s Brett Fahlgren brought the group together for a toast, wryly noting, “It’s the first time we’ve ever done a party that started at 11 [a.m.], but we knew that this crew of creatives would come out.” The brand has had a longtime involvement with the Costume Designers Guild and earlier this year Bvlgari introduced a new edition of the Costume Designers Guild Awards statuette, which was on display at the party. The Emmys week celebration is also a continuation of the event partnership THR and Bvlgari launched in March, throwing a luncheon for the Oscar-nominated costume designers.
After applauding the Emmy nominees and winners in the room, Fahlgren said admiringly of costume designers, “The actors adore you because you make them look good on film, the directors are obsessed because you solve all the problems, and our goal at Bvlgari is to help shine a light on this incredible group.”
