Lionel Richie is stable after the singer was hospitalized following his show in St. Louis on Saturday, a source close to the singer’s tour confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.

The source said Richie “self-checked in after the show Saturday night and is doing okay.” TMZ had first reported on Richie going to the ICU, saying doctors were treating the singer for “possible slight dehydration.”

The news comes about two months after Richie had to abruptly end a concert in Minnesota in June after he appeared to fall ill on stage. Then on tour with Earth, Wind and Fire, he told the crowd he was feeling dizzy and performed several songs sitting down before leaving the stage for an intermission. He didn’t return for the rest of his performance, and as the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported, about 40 minutes after Richie called for the intermission, saxophonist Dino Soldo told the crowd that the show was off as he “wasn’t feeling well.”

After two shows were postponed, Richie returned to the stage in Pittsburgh on June 30. He and Earth, Wind and Fire finished their joint tour earlier this month in Austin, Texas. Saturday was his first show since that tour ended, and he’s got 10 more shows for 2026 currently listed on his website, starting with the Chase Center in San Francisco on Sept. 26.

Six of the dates are for a Las Vegas residency at Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas from Oct. 14 to Nov. 13. He’s also slated to play Nubank Parque in São Paulo, Brazil, on Dec. 19. It’s unclear as of this story’s publication if Richie’s latest hospitalization will impact any of those upcoming concerts.
