Bad Bunny Wins First Emmy for Super Bowl Halftime Show
It was a big night for global superstar Bad Bunny on Saturday as he earned his first Emmy Award.

The Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show took home seven awards, including outstanding variety special (live). The Puerto Rican rapper and singer received his Emmy as both a performer and a producer.
The 2026 Halftime Show also won for music direction, choreography, sound mixing, lighting design, technical direction/camerawork and directing. Rapper Jay-Z, who was an executive producer on the show, also received his third Emmy.
Back in February, Bad Bunny took fans on a 13-minute cinematic journey during football’s biggest night. While performing a wide range of his biggest hits, including “Tití Me Preguntó,” “Eoo,” “BAILE INoLVIDABLE,” “El Apagón,” “CAFé CON RON,” “MONACO,” NUEVAYoL” and “DtMF,” he also told a love story and shared a bit of his culture on the global stage. The show ended with a message of unity and love displayed on the screens inside Levi’s Stadium, which read, “The only thing more powerful than hate is love.”
Saturday marked the second time a Super Bowl Halftime Show has prevailed in the best variety special (live) category, following The Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show Starring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent in 2022.
Other nominees in this year’s outstanding variety special (live) category were the 83rd Annual Golden Globes, 68th Annual Grammy Awards, the 2026 Oscars and 78th Annual Tony Awards.
The first night of the non-televised Creative Arts Emmys took place on Saturday at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, ahead of the Primetime Emmys on Sept. 14. See all the first-night winners here, and the night-two winners will be announced on Sunday.
