Ceyair Wright Goes Hollywood: NFL Player Nabs Starring Role in Teyana Taylor Dance Movie ‘Get Lite’ (Exclusive)

Wright, the Cincinnati Bengals cornerback who temporarily left the team during training camp following its first preseason game to pursue a movie project, has signed on to star in Get Lite, a dance movie that Teyana Taylor is directing for Paramount Pictures, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned.
Wright will star opposite Storm Reid in the feature that is due to begin shooting in New York later this month. The dance drama has a Aug. 20, 2027 release date.
The story centers on a talented, but sheltered, dance student who finds inspiration, love, and family in the last place he expected: the subways of New York City. At the center of the film is Litefeet, a high-energy dance style that sprang from Harlem earlier this century and influenced cultural trends.
Wright is the student who is caught between worlds while Reid is the girl that opens his life to new possibilities.
Maurice Williams wrote the screenplay based on a spec script by Eric Gross, which appeared on the Black List in 2020.

Reid is also producing as is Taylor, who is producing with Courtney “Coco” Gilbert, her partner their duo’s production banner The Aunties. Get Lite is the directorial debut of Taylor, who earned an Academy Award nomination for her performance in One Battle After Another. Taylor knows her way around a dance shoot as she was choreographing dance videos, including one for Beyonce, while still in her mid-teens.
Wright is both an actor and a professional football player. On the thespian side, he is best known for playing LeBron James’ son, Darius James, in 2021’s Space Jam: A New Legacy. He has also appeared in a major recurring role on Freeform’s Grown-ish and notched credits on shows such as Training Day, 2 Broke Girls and Instant Mom.
On the gridiron, Wright was a standout cornerback at USC before transferring to the University of Nebraska, where he earned honorable-mention All-Big Ten honors in 2025. He signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent in spring 2026. In August, it was reported he was leaving to pursue an acting opportunity.
