On Tuesday night, shortly after episode seven aired on Peacock, the show announced that voting had opened for fans on the Love Island USA app. However, when some viewers went to vote, they were met with glitches and a message that read “network error.”
“Vote tonight to choose which Islanders the new Bombshells — Sol, Jen, and Caleb — should couple up with! Voting opens at 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT and closes at 1 a.m. E.T./10 p.m. PT. Voting is open in the U.S. only. Link in our bio,” Love Island USA posted on its official Instagram shortly after 7 p.m. PT.
Fans were quick to express their frustration on social media. “Alright yall cutting into my bed time not having this app working!” one user wrote in the comments on the social post. Another person added, “Network error on the app I’m gonna lose it. Better extend that voting.” A fan also wrote on X, “Anyone else having issues with voting? Keepings [sic] saying network error.”
Some people noted on social media that the vote eventually worked for them after they redownloaded the app or kept refreshing.
The Hollywood Reporter has reached out to Peacock for more information on when the issue is expected to be resolved.
Fan votes throughout the season allow viewers to shape the show by deciding which couples stay, who goes on dates with bombshells and which Islanders they want to see sent home.
New episodes of Love Island USA drop Thursdays through Tuesdays, with Love Island Aftersun (hosted by Ciara Miller and content creator Tefi Pessoa) airing every Saturday. Check out all of THR‘s Love Island USA season eight coverage and interviews here.
