Wong\u2019s Psychological Drama \u2018Afterpiece\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n<em>The Free Press\u2019 <\/em>Suzy Weiss started the interview by immediately asking if he\u2019d be voting for Pratt, to which Braun said he doesn\u2019t tell people who he votes for but called himself a moderate who votes both ways. He said it is \u201cvery possible\u201d he could win the election.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cWhat I really do appreciate about what Spencer\u2019s doing is he is bringing a lot of things to light that no one\u2019s brought to light,\u201d Braun said. \u201cI think he\u2019s speaking for a lot of people who are very frustrated and want common sense and want people to speak plainly and address certain things. It\u2019s very interesting to watch.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\n\tPratt\u2019s campaign has turned L.A.\u2019s mayoral race into a national news story, with entertainment figures such as Joe Rogan and Adam Carolla \u2014 along with President Donald Trump \u2014 all endorsing him for the job. The former reality star with no political experience is predictably the most controversial candidate in the race, as others including Jimmy Kimmel and Drew Carey have both encouraged voters to steer away from him.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tBeyond Pratt, Braun discussed finding his former management client Justin Bieber in his early days, referring to the pop star as \u201cone of the most extraordinary talents, he was charismatic, he was brave.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tHe also spoke about fellow former superstar client Kanye West, whom he represented from 2016 to 2018 during the rapper\u2019s <em>The Life of Pablo <\/em>era. Braun, who is Jewish, acknowledged West\u2019s antisemitic comments over the past several years, calling them \u201cvery upsetting to me,\u201d but he also lauded the rapper for his creative brilliance he\u2019d witnessed at the time, saying West \u201ctaught me how to see colors and design differently,\u201d recalling a story of West quickly designing the famous shirts from his Saint Pablo Tour.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tWest was hesitant to sell merchandise on the tour over fear of quality, but in a meeting with West and the late artist and fashion designer Virgil Abloh at West\u2019s New York apartment, Braun told him fans wanted something to buy since no one had ticket stubs anymore.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cHe goes \u2018Virgil, come here.\u2019 He basically designs a T-shirt that says \u2018Admission.\u2019 And he puts the date of the show the next day and everything else, and he goes, \u2018There\u2019s your merch.\u2019 He heard this story and he turned it into [the shirt] and it ended up being the greatest selling T-shirt and broke every single merch record. That was the genius of him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tBraun said his reputation dramatically changed \u201covernight\u201d after he bought Swift\u2019s masters in the deal to purchase Big Machine in 2019, saying \u201cit went from being loved and appreciated for over a decade to literally the next night,\u201d he was a villain.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/uspropertymoves.com\/?p=829\">Gareth Edwards Is Excited About AI Filmmaking \u2014 Even Though It\u2019s Like a \u201cSecond-Unit Director Who Is a Billionaire on Acid\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cI don\u2019t know Taylor Swift,\u201d Braun said looking back on the controversy. \u201cI think I\u2019ve met her in my life three times. I\u2019ve never had a substantial conversation with her in my life. I one time got invited to a private party by her. She told me she had the utmost respect for me. I told her I had the most respect for her. You don\u2019t spend $300 million buying a label that she\u2019s on unless you\u2019re excited at the opportunity to work with her. I will never truly understand that situation to this day. I wish her nothing but the best, I learned a tremendous amount from it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tBraun called it \u201cthis big misconception that we knew each other and we had this feud,\u201d adding that \u201cpeople are shocked to find out that I legitimately don\u2019t know her and didn\u2019t have many interactions with her and never really knew her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tFor her part, Swift wrote an extensive note on her Tumblr account after the sale, writing that \u201cany time [Big Machine founder] Scott Borchetta has heard the words \u2018Scooter Braun\u2019 escape my lips, it was when I was either crying or trying not to.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tBraun went on to sell Swift\u2019s masters to VC firm Shamrock, and Swift of course ended up buying the rights back last year. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tBraun further touched on speaking out on antisemitism and zionism after Oct. 7, saying, \u201cI think we have a major problem in the world today of not taking the time to discuss the word nuance, to discuss the gray.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn the interview, Braun only alluded to his relationship with Sydney Sweeney, not saying her name and declining to tell Weiss how they met, saying \u201cnot gonna go into that, that\u2019s personal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cI\u2019ve met an extraordinary woman,\u201d Braun said. \u201cShe\u2019s kind and generous and smart and real and down to earth and one of the biggest surprises ever.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tWeiss asked if he\u2019s been watching <em>Euphoria<\/em>, to which he said: \u201cI\u2019m biased, I like it.
