\nAdolescence<\/em> and Reunion<\/em> producer Warp Films has appointed Peter Balm as managing director, calling the move \u201ca significant step in the company\u2019s continued growth following a sustained period of creative and commercial success.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBalm joined the company as business and commercial executive in 2012 and most recently held the role of commercial director. In his new role, he will oversee the company\u2019s commercial strategy and operations, continuing to work closely with the senior leadership team, including CEO Mark Herbert, COO and CFO Niall Shamma, and chief creative officer Emily Feller, \u201cto support Warp\u2019s continued expansion across film and television.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSaid the company: \u201cThe appointment comes as Warp enters one of the most ambitious periods in its 20-year history, with a major development slate and a renewed focus on film alongside its television output. The company is also building its international presence, strengthening partnerships with broadcasters, streamers and distributors across key markets, without losing its renowned creative ingenuity.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBalm has been instrumental in building the financing and distribution partnerships that have allowed Warp to expand its slate and grow its global profile. \u201cHe has played a key part in a period that produced some of the most talked-about British productions in recent memory, including as co-executive producer on\u00a0Adolescence<\/em>,\u00a0<\/em>which has been awarded seven BAFTAs, eight Primetime Emmys, four Golden Globes, and many more honors,\u201d the firm said.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cPeter has played a hugely important role in Warp\u2019s growth over the last decade and this appointment feels like a natural evolution for both him and the company,\u201d said Herbert. He combines real commercial instinct with a deep understanding of who we are creatively. Warp has always been driven by bold storytelling and brilliant creative talent, but we\u2019ve also worked hard to build a sustainable and ambitious business around that, rooted in Sheffield. Peter has been central to that journey, and I\u2019m excited to see him lead the company forward alongside the wider team.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBalm called Warp \u201ca genuinely special company, and it\u2019s been such a privilege to be part of its growth over the past 14 years.\u201d He added: \u201cWe\u2019re entering a hugely exciting period: expanding our slate and partnerships, growing our film ambitions and continuing to back distinctive voices across television and film.\u201d<\/p>\n
