\nHayden Panettiere, known for her roles on shows such as Heroes <\/em>and Nashville<\/em>, has died, her father told ABC News on Sunday. She was 36.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden. She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her \u2014 and to the millions who watched her onscreen,\u201d her father, Skip Panettiere, told ABC News in a statement. He also asked for privacy \u201cas our family takes time to process this unimaginable loss.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe details around her death are unknown. The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> has reached out to her rep.<\/p>\n

\n\tPanettiere\u2019s credits also include the films I Love You, Beth Cooper <\/em>(2009), Scream 4<\/em> (2011) and Scream VI<\/em> (2023) and the 2025 Lifetime movie Amanda Knox.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n\tShe was involved in a relationship with Ukrainian champion heavyweight boxer Wladimir Klitschko from 2009-11 and 2013\u201318, and they had a daughter, daughter, Kaya, in 2014. Her younger brother, actor Jansen Panettiere, died in February 2023 of aortic valve complications at age 28.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn May, Panettiere had published her raw and candid memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning, <\/em>where she opened up about growing up in the spotlight as a child star, her battles with addiction, postpartum depression and more.<\/p>\n

The actress spoke with THR\u2019s <\/em>Seija Rankin about her biggest revelations from the book, including if she told people she would be writing about the personal stories.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was fiercely protective of people in my writing,\u201d she said. \u201cI felt very strongly about my ability to tell my stories and make them entertaining enough to put in a book, without having to drag people through the mud. I had members of my team that I would bounce ideas off of, or ask their opinions about things like that I was writing.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cI mean, my publicist is also my dear friend and I trust her, so I leaned on her to know. And then I made sure that Vlad [Klitschko, Panettiere\u2019s ex-fianc\u00e9 and father of her daughter] wasn\u2019t going to be upset with me. But other than that, I just had to speak my truth \u2014 and it\u2019s mine alone.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPanettiere earned her breakout role in 2006, playing the indestructible cheerleader Claire Bennet on the NBC sci-fi series Heroes. <\/em>She starred on the series for four seasons.<\/p>\n

\n\tShe garnered more fame playing Juliette Barnes in the series Nashville<\/em> from 2012-18, and then as Kirby Reed in the Scream <\/em>horror franchise, including Scream 4<\/em> and Scream VI<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn her memoir, she also opened up about her struggles with Nashville<\/em>, specifically how Juliette\u2019s storyline started to resemble your own personal strife, such as her character\u2019s postpartum depression and alcoholism.<\/p>\n

\n\tEarlier credits included One Life to Live, Guiding Light, Malcolm in the Middle, The Object of My Affection, A Bug\u2019s Life <\/em>and Message in a Bottle.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n\tBorn on Aug. 21, 1989, Panettiere was raised in Palisades, New York, by her parents, actress-producer Lesley R. Vogel, who managed her daughter\u2019s career, and Alan Lee \u201cSkip\u201d Panettiere, a retired captain in the New York City Fire Department.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMy introduction to acting was actually at 11 months old,\u201d she told Entertainment Tonight<\/em> in 2023. \u201cPlayskool\u00a0Toy Train was my first commercial, but, I don\u2019t know if that would really be an introduction to acting, because I don\u2019t think acting was involved at that point. I didn\u2019t have lines, I\u00a0was just playing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe also shared that her favorite experience was working on Remember the Titans<\/em> (2000).<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThis movie was my favorite movie to film; what an incredible time in my life,\u201d she said. \u201cThat\u2019s just pure me that look. That is like from, oh my gosh \u2014 I mean, I was 10 years old. I had such cute boys around me, I was surrounded by the cutest boys. Kate Bosworth was like my big sister, was close to everyone. \u2026 I mean, you have no idea how many times in my life I have wished and prayed \u2014 if I had wished to go back to any time in my life, it would be going back to\u00a0Remember the Titans<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPanettiere earned noms at the Golden Globes, Critics Choice Television Awards, Teen Choice Awards and People\u2019s Choice Awards for her role in Nashville<\/em>. Her performance in Heroes<\/em> landed her Teen Choice noms and a Young Artist Award. She also won a Young Artist Award for her role in Remember the Titans.<\/em>\n<\/p>\n
