\n\tIt seems Rihanna is at \u201cwork, work, work, work, work, work\u201d on her next album.<\/p>\n

\n\tWith fans incredibly hungry for another album from the Grammy winner, especially since it\u2019s been a decade since she released her last studio project, 2016\u2019s Anti<\/em>, her longtime partner, A$AP Rocky, is offering a little status update.<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring a recent interview on The Jason Lee Show<\/em>, the rapper was asked by host Jason Lee, \u201cAre you the reason why we don\u2019t have an album?\u201d He was referencing the long-running joke among fans that the delay in new music was due to her relationship with Rocky, their growing family (they share three children) and Rihanna\u2019s many business ventures.<\/p>\n

\n\tHowever, Rocky shut down those claims. \u201cNah,\u201d he replied. \u201cShe in the studio right now. Yeah, I said it. Sorry, babe.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cBro, she working. She cooking, no funny shit. Damn, I\u2019mma get in trouble for this. Her fans are going to kill me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen Rihanna\u2019s Anti<\/em> dropped in 2016, it became a hit, spending two weeks atop the Billboard 200 chart. It also included her fan-favorite songs \u201cWork,\u201d \u201cNeeded Me,\u201d \u201cLove on the Brain\u201d and \u201cDesperado.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThough she hasn\u2019t released an official album since then, she has put out a few standalone singles tied to film soundtracks, including \u201cLift Me Up\u201d and \u201cBorn Again\u201d for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever<\/em> and \u201cFriend of Mine\u201d for Smurfs<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen Rihanna was previously asked for an update on her next album, dubbed\u00a0R9<\/em>, she told Entertainment Tonight<\/em> in 2024 that while she\u2019s \u201cstarting over,\u201d she also doesn\u2019t \u201cwant to neglect\u00a0the songs that I have, so I actually want to go back and listen to stuff with new ears, with my new perspective and then see what applies and what I\u2019m still in love with.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThat same year, she also told Interview<\/em>\u00a0magazine that her \u201cbrain is working backward right now\u201d regarding her next musical endeavor. \u201cI usually have the music first, and the music leads me into all of these visual opportunities, and now I\u2019m having all of these visuals,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

\n\tElsewhere on The Jason Lee Show<\/em>, Rocky was also asked if fans could expect a \u201cdouble album of y\u2019all both together on every song\u201d in the future.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cNope,\u201d the rapper quickly replied. \u201cI would hate Rocky and Rihanna if they both did that. That\u2019s trash. Nobody wants to hear us together, bro.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tRocky explained that he believes their separate sounds wouldn\u2019t make sense together because \u201cI make subversive weird ass indie rap,\u201d adding that \u201cthe music that I make is for a niche demographic of people who actually get this\u00a0shit.\u201d<\/p>\n
