And by fun, I mean not having to see any <em>Super Troopers<\/em> movies, with the exception of the similarly misbegotten <em>Super Troopers 2<\/em> in 2018. The third installment has now arrived, presumably indicating that these films have their fans. The old gang \u2014 consisting of Thorny (Jay Chandrasekhar, who also directed, and I use the term loosely), Farva (Kevin Heffernan), Mac (Steve Lemme), Rabbit (Erik Stolhanske) and Foster (Paul Soter) \u2014 are back, older if definitely not wiser, with their trademark mustaches intact.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h3>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tSuper Troopers 3\t\t<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n<div>\n<span>The Bottom Line<\/span><br \/>\n<span><\/p>\n<p>\tIf you haven&#8217;t acquired the taste by now, forget it.<br \/>\n\t<\/span>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<strong>Release date<\/strong>: Friday, August 7<br \/><strong>Cast<\/strong>: Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, Erik Stolhanske, Hannah Simone, Nat Faxon, Chace Crawford, Andrew Dismukes, Marisa Coughlan, Brian Cox<br \/><strong>Director<\/strong>: Jay Chandrasekhar<br \/><strong>Screenwriters<\/strong>: Broken Lizard<br \/>\n<span><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRated R,<br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t1 hour 44 minutes\t\t\t<\/span>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\n\tOther repeat offenders are friendly cop Ursula (Marisa Coughlan) and Captain O\u2019Hagan (Brian Cox), now retired but constantly hanging around headquarters for reasons not revealed until the final moments. You\u2019d think that after his triumphant turn in <em>Succession<\/em>,Cox would have resisted the urge to revisit his role as the endlessly cantankerous chief, but it must be said that it suits him perfectly. Sitting with the troopers listening to a speech by their new captain Markowski (Nat Faxon), O\u2019Hagan mutters, \u201cIt\u2019s fun down here in the peanut gallery.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe storyline, summed up in the film\u2019s onscreen subtitle <em>Farva\u2019s Wedding<\/em>, revolves around the whirlwind romance that develops between Thorny\u2019s sister Sarita (Hannah Simone, an excellent addition) and Farva after the vulgarian trooper rescues her from a burning car. A horrified Thorny does everything he can to sabotage their upcoming traditional Indian-style nuptials, hoping that his very old-fashioned parents (Sakina Jaffrey and Iqbal Theba, largely maintaining their dignity) will find their daughter\u2019s new fianc\u00e9 as reprehensible as he does. But Farva undercuts his efforts at every turn, putting on an unlikely charm offensive that drives Thorny to distraction, including gifting his future in-laws with a <em>Gandhi<\/em> DVD.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThere are other plotlines, including Foster\u2019s growing jealousy at the flirtation between his ex-girlfriend Ursula and a rookie trooper (Andrew Dismukes), and an illicit drug scheme involving maple syrup concocted by former weed dealers turned wedding planners the Buchanan brothers (Chase Crawford and Jon Rudnitsky). But it\u2019s all a flimsy framework for a series of not-so-funny gags revolving around such things as the term \u201cDutch Oven\u201d (I had to look that one up, having led a sheltered life) and Thorny\u2019s mother sucking snake venom out of Farva\u2019s neck, which results in visible erections for every male in the room. At another point, Farva force-feeds Thorny\u2019s father some beef, prompting the Hindu vegetarian to declare, \u201cHoly cow, that\u2019s delicious!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/uspropertymoves.com\/?p=4962\">Perez Hilton\u2019s TikTok Account Banned Following Disturbing Livestream, Hospitalization<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\tOther bits involve Farva stuffing himself with lobster even though he\u2019s allergic to shellfish, resulting in an EpiPen-fueled battle, and a running joke about Markowski\u2019s desperate attempts to prove his open-mindedness while repeatedly coming across as racist.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\tSince the film written by the Broken Lizard troupe members features a non-stop series of gags, some of them inevitably land despite the clumsy execution.
