{"id":4857,"date":"2026-08-04T10:36:18","date_gmt":"2026-08-04T10:36:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uspropertymoves.com\/?p=4857"},"modified":"2026-08-04T10:36:18","modified_gmt":"2026-08-04T10:36:18","slug":"amazon-picks-up-baywatch-reboot-internationally","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uspropertymoves.com\/?p=4857","title":{"rendered":"Amazon Picks Up \u2018Baywatch\u2019 Reboot Internationally"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<!-- do not apply CSS styles to this element! --><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\n\tAmazon Prime Video is hitting the beach.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAmazon has snatched up multiple international territories for the upcoming <em>Baywatch<\/em> reboot, picking up the hot lifeguard adventure series for much of Europe, including France, Germany, Italy, and Spain, as well as for Canada, Latin America and India, among other territories.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/uspropertymoves.com\/?p=4855\">Mary Rivera, Ned\u2019s Grandma in \u2018Spider-Man: No Way Home,\u2019 Dies at 82<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\tAs part of the deal, Amazon will also license the complete <em>Baywatch<\/em> back catalogue, including all nine seasons of the original <em>Baywatch,<\/em> and seasons 9 and 10 of the show, which was rebranded <em>Baywatch Hawaii <\/em>in the same territories. (Not included, though, are the two seasons of the less-fondly-remembered spin-off series <em>Baywatch Nights<\/em>.)<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe new <em>Baywatch<\/em> stars Stephen Amell alongside Jessica Belkin, Shay Mitchell, Hassie Harrison, Thaddeus LaGrone, Noah Beck, and Brooks Nader. Matt Nix (<em>Burn Notice<\/em>, <em>The Gifted<\/em>) serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside executive producers McG, Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto and Mike Horowitz. McG (<em>Charlie\u2019s Angels<\/em>) will direct the series premiere episode.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe reboot is billed as a celebration of the original series \u201cre-energized\u201d for a new generation. The original <em>Baywatch<\/em>, starring David Hasselhoff, was canceled after its first season on NBC, but survived through syndication and became a massive global hit. At its peak, it was the most-watched show in the world, airing in over 200 countries and reaching more than a billion viewers every week. The first 12-episode season will debut on Fox in January 2027 and on Prime Video later in the year. Fox Entertainment Global holds all domestic distribution rights.
