\nNBCUniversal has hired Christopher Halpin as its new chief financial officer.<\/p>\n

\n\tHalpin will oversee the studio\u2019s global finances and report to co-CEO Mike Cavanagh, the future CEO of NBCUniversal after Comcast separates its media and technology businesses. The exec starts on Sept. 8.<\/p>\n

\n\tRandy Culbertson, currently CFO of NBCUniversal, will remain with the studio as he transitions to a new role to be announced in the coming weeks, the company also said on Thursday. Halpin most recently worked at People Inc., formerly known as IAC, where he served as executive vp, COO and CFO.<\/p>\n

\n\tCavanagh, currently co-CEO of Comcast, in a statement said: \u201cChris has spent his career helping build and grow leading businesses across sports, media and entertainment \u2014 the areas that will drive NBCUniversal\u2019s growth in the years ahead. He brings deep industry experience, outstanding judgment and a collaborative approach that make him a trusted partner. I can\u2019t think of a better person to join our leadership team as we build on our strong foundation and shape NBCUniversal\u2019s future.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tNBCUniversal is anchored by its growing theme parks division, the Universal film and television studios, the NBC and Telemundo networks, streaming service Peacock\u00a0and\u00a0the Bravo cable network.\u00a0In addition, NBCUniversal\u2019s portfolio will include Sky, its\u00a0European media business.<\/p>\n

\n\tBefore People Inc., Halpin completed senior executive stints at the National Football League, most recently as executive vp, chief strategy & growth officer. Earlier, he was a partner and managing director at Providence Equity Partners, where he led transactions across the firm\u2019s media, entertainment and technology investments. Halpin started his career at Goldman Sachs & Co.<\/p>\n
