Things quickly take a turn, though, as Erika chooses him to become her sexual muse. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/uspropertymoves.com\/?p=4538\">Lynette Howell Taylor Re-Elected President of Film Academy<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\nThe erotic comedy plays into a recent trend of projects depicting older women in relationships with younger men, including 2024\u2019s <em>Babygirl<\/em> and a side plot in <em>Marty Supreme<\/em>. Co-writer Karley Sciortino recently wrote an op-ed about Hollywood\u2019s love of the new age gap, and at the movie\u2019s L.A. premiere on Tuesday, Araki explained, \u201cIn the patriarchy, that\u2019s normal, for the pretty young thing to be with the old rich guy. As women gain more power and more income and wealth, I think that it\u2019s great that the tables get evened out a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tWilde \u2014 who has her own personal experience with age gap romances and the backlash that can surround them, from her time dating Harry Styles \u2014  celebrated \u201cthe fact that audiences are really open to a trend that for so long was dominated by the traditional older man, younger woman narrative. I think it\u2019s exciting that people are breaking out of their boxes in different ways. I loved <em>Babygirl<\/em>; I think it\u2019s exciting that people are open to different kinds of sexy love stories.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\n\tAraki explained how he chose his central pairing, having long wanted to work with Wilde but admitting he wasn\u2019t sure about Hoffman at first because after seeing him in <em>Licorice Pizza<\/em>, \u201che was so young and I was like it\u2019s a little creepy for her to be sleeping with this kid.\u201d After meeting him, though, Araki was impressed by how Hoffman \u201chas a lot of gravitas for somebody so young;\u201d Hoffman explained in signing on, \u201cI would be really shocked if people said no to this opportunity. It\u2019s Gregg, it\u2019s Olivia, it\u2019s a wild sex movie \u2014 that feels so exciting to me, rather than something that\u2019s boring and dull.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/uspropertymoves.com\/?p=4536\">\u2018Chad Powers\u2019 Reveals Return Date and Season 2 First-Look Photos<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\tWilde\u2019s character in particular is very far from dull, with the star saying, \u201cMadonna was a major source of inspiration, specifically the <em>Truth or Dar<\/em>e documentary\u201d and how she was \u201csingular in her determination to stay true to herself and completely not giving a single fuck about if people didn\u2019t approve of her.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe performance is also a big departure from her buzzy performance in<em> The Invite<\/em>, her other relationship comedy that came out this summer. \u201cIt\u2019s wild because these two characters are the two kind of sides of my personality.
