\n\tSinger-songwriter Noah Kahan is pushing back against President Donald Trump\u2019s use of his song.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 29-year-old singer-songwriter took to Instagram to comment on the White House and Trump\u2019s use of his song \u201cAmerican Cars\u201d on their social media posts about an event in Michigan for autoworkers. Kahan swiftly shut down any doubt about any association.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWould never approve of my music being used in support of you or this administration,\u201d Kahan commented on the post. The Vermont native\u2019s comment has already gathered thousands of likes. <\/p>\n

\n\tKahan joins a long list of other artists who have called out Trump for using their music without permission, including Celine Dion, Katy Perry, Kesha, Tom Petty and many others.<\/p>\n

\n\tKahan is in the midst of a record-breaking year. The 29-year-old earned his first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 last month. One of the most hotly anticipated albums of 2026, The Great Divide<\/em> had the third biggest week for an album this year when it was released.<\/p>\n

\nThe Great Divide<\/em> serves as the follow-up to Kahan\u2019s breakthrough hit album, Stick Season<\/em>, which helped transform the Vermont native from a club act to a stadium headliner. The singer announced the album in late January and dropped the music video for its first single, the titular track, during a commercial break at the 2026 Grammy Awards.<\/p>\n

\n\tLess than 24 hours after the release of the 17-track album, Kahan surprise-dropped an extended version, The Great Divide: The Last of the Bugs<\/em>. The expanded version of the album featured four new tracks \u2014 \u201cLighthouse,\u201d \u201cStaying Still,\u201d \u201cA Few of Our Own\u201d and \u201cOrbiter\u201d \u2014 bringing the final number of tracks up to 21.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe singer\u2019s currently on the road with his sold-out Great Divide tour. Earlier this month, Kahan closed out a four-night run at Boston\u2019s Fenway Park and was inducted into the ballpark\u2019s artist hall of fame. <\/p>\n
