\n\tIt\u2019s finally here, and judging by initial reactions, it\u2019s going to be a monster hit.<\/p>\n

\n\tSony and Marvel\u2019s Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/em> held its glitzy, star-packed world premiere at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood on Monday night, and not long after the screening ended, the first reactions began to flood social media.<\/p>\n

\nDestin Daniel Cretton\u2018s Brand New Day<\/em> is the fourth standalone Spider-Man<\/em> film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe \u2014 as well as the 38th film overall in the MCU \u2014 and picks up the action after 2021\u2019s near $2 billion-grossing Spider-Man: No Way Home.<\/em> The films once again are led by Tom Holland as Peter Parker\/Spider-Man, as well as Zendaya as Michelle \u201cMJ\u201d Jones-Watson and Jacob Batalon as Peter\u2019s best friend Ned Leeds.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe MCU\u2019s Jon Bernthal\u2019s Frank Castle\/Punisher, Michael Mando\u2019s Mac Gargan\/Scorpion and Mark Ruffalo\u2019s Bruce Banner\/Hulk also appear in the film. New cast members include Severance<\/em>\u2018s Tramell Tillman and Stranger Things<\/em> star Sadie Sink, the latter of whom is playing an unknown character which has led to feverish speculation online.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cKeeping what Sadie\u2019s doing under wraps, you\u2019ll honestly understand when you see the movie. The movie is a better movie if you don\u2019t know certain things,\u201d Cretton said in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>.<\/em> <\/p>\n

\n\tThe plot of Brand New Day<\/em> follows the end of No Way Home<\/em>, with the world \u2014 including MJ and Ned \u2014 having forgotten who Peter Parker is. Four years on, Peter is still protecting New York City as Spider-Man and he links up with street vigilante the Punisher to take on the likes of the Scorpion, all while his own powers undergo a new evolution. <\/p>\n

\nBrand New Day<\/em> is written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, who both co-wrote the other Holland Spider-Man<\/em> films, including Spider-Man: Homecoming <\/em>(2017), Spider-Man: Far From Home<\/em> (2019) and Spider-Man: No Way Home<\/em> (2021). The film is produced Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad and Rachel O\u2019Connor. The film is part of Phase Six of the MCU and is followed by December\u2019s Avengers: Doomsday<\/em> in the Marvel continuity.<\/p>\n
