{"id":4389,"date":"2026-07-27T23:36:55","date_gmt":"2026-07-27T23:36:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uspropertymoves.com\/?p=4389"},"modified":"2026-07-27T23:36:55","modified_gmt":"2026-07-27T23:36:55","slug":"indie-film-grant-seeks-to-help-female-directors-shoot-on-celluloid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uspropertymoves.com\/?p=4389","title":{"rendered":"Indie Film Grant Seeks to Help Female Directors Shoot on Celluloid"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<!-- do not apply CSS styles to this element! --><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\n\tA filmmaker grant is looking to help independent female filmmakers shoot their projects on celluloid.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/uspropertymoves.com\/?p=4387\">Custom \u2018Spider-Man\u2019-Inspired Ping-Pong Table With Stan Lee Signature Hits Market for Close to $500K<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\tWomen Behind the Camera, which is founded by filmmaker and actress Armida L\u00f3pez (<em>Boss Level<\/em>, <em>El Chicano<\/em>), is behind the grant along with production company 33 &amp; Change Films, MasterBuilt Lenses and ASCF, a nonprofit founded by Thom Kuo and managed by Jessi Spickard that is dedicated to teaching and preserving the art of celluloid filmmaking.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe grantees, which were chosen from a pool of 500 applicants, will receive a full lens package from MasterBuilt Lenses and an additional camera package from ASCF. For the selected winners who will choose to shoot on film, 1,200 feet of free scanning will be provided. A complimentary one-year free membership with the Alliance of Women Directors will also be offered to the grantees.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tGrant recipients are filmmakers Anna Remus and LaTajh Simmons-Weaver, and the filmmaking team Mack Breeden and Riley Scott.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/uspropertymoves.com\/?p=4385\">\u2018Obsession\u2019 Star Michael Johnston in Early Talks to Join \u2018The Mummy\u2019 Sequel<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\tRemus has led visual storytelling projects for major brands such as Planet Fitness and Pfizer, and was recently selected for the 2027 cohort of AFI\u2019s Directing Workshop for Women. Her project is titled <em>Eternal<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tSimmons-Weaver, whose supported project is titled <em>Rubble<\/em>, has made films for <em>The Guardian<\/em> and the Museum of African Diaspora. Most recently, they were behind documentary shorts <em>Hold Me Close<\/em> and <em>Budget Paradise<\/em>, the former of which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tBreeden and Scott, who collectively run the production company Ginger Tits, will be behind a project titled <em>Gorge<\/em>.
