\nKaty Perry is speaking out after the White House\u2018s official TikTok account used her song \u201cFirework\u201d in a video showing footage of military strikes.<\/p>\n

\n\tPosted Thursday, the video used lyrics from Perry\u2019s 2010 hit \u201cFirework,\u201d from her Grammy-nominated album Teenage Dream<\/em>, including \u201cboom, boom, boom,\u201d over clips of bombs exploding. The video\u2019s caption read: \u201cIran has been warned.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe singer took to X on Saturday morning to share her reaction: \u201cI am deeply appalled and angry to see \u2018Firework\u2019 used on the @WhiteHouse TikTok account as a backing track for video footage of military strikes. I did not approve this, I was not asked, and I absolutely do not condone it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI wrote this song to be an anthem of hope, healing, and inner strength for people going through their darkest personal moments,\u201d she continued. \u201cTo see a message of self-worth and upliftment weaponized to soundtrack destruction and violence is a complete violation of everything my song stands for.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPerry concluded her statement: \u201cMy music is for bringing people together, not celebrating warfare.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe singer joins a list of artists who have called out the Trump administration\u2019s use of their music in political videos, including Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo, Celine Dion, Kenny Loggins and more.<\/p>\n

\n\tEarlier this year, Kesha condemned the White House using her song \u201cBlow\u201d on TikTok featuring fighter jets in the sky with the caption, \u201cLethality.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s come to my attention that the White House has used one of my songs on TikTok to incite violence and threaten war,\u201d she wrote on Instagram and X in March. \u201cTrying to make light of war is disgusting and inhumane.
