We\u2019re always talking about different cities. What else is new? What does the subculture look like?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIt was actually what felt a bit old \u2014 or, rather, nostalgic \u2014 to Gimenez during a trip to the Ocean State that led to the greenlighting of the latest series. \u201cPeople are jumping on boats, and they\u2019re having<br \/>dinner. Everybody knows each other and who\u2019s working where. This bakery and that bakery. \u2018I went to high school with that one.\u2019 It was so fascinating,\u201d she explains. \u201cIt took me back to the early days of what made <em>Housewives<\/em>.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n<em>RHORI <\/em>follows seven women \u2014 Alicia Carmody, Rosie DiMare, Ashley Iaconetti, Liz McGraw, Rulla Nehme Pontarelli, Kelsey Swanson and Jo-Ellen Tiberi \u2014 from the small New England state, with <em>Real Housewives of New Jersey <\/em>castmember and <em>Traitors<\/em> season three winner Dolores Catania in the role of the \u201cfriend.\u201d The cast and producers are quick to point out that the members of the group are a bit more \u201cunconventional\u201d than franchise fans might be used to. \u201cYou have Liz, who\u2019s a stepmom. You have Kelsey, who is dating and had been in a relationship for 10 years. You have Rosie, who doesn\u2019t know if she wants to have children,\u201d explains Gimenez.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAdds Swanson, whose story arc revolves around ending the aforementioned relationship with her partner, who lives away from her for half the year and funds much of her luxury lifestyle, \u201cPeople get caught up on the term \u2018Housewife.\u2019 How about [we call it], \u2018Just a group of women who are entertaining,\u2019 and let it be that.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/uspropertymoves.com\/?p=4293\">\u2018Rick and Morty\u2019 Spinoff \u2018President Curtis\u2019 Scores Early Season 2 Renewal at Adult Swim<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\tMarital statuses aside, what the castmembers are is authentic, and viewers are responding with record interest. <em>RHORI<\/em>\u2019s season two renewal was announced at NBCUniversal\u2019s 2026 upfronts presentation in May, where the cable network noted that the show was on pace to be its second-biggest series across platforms, just behind <em>The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,<\/em> which first aired in 2010. It also raked in 2.7\u00a0million viewers in the first seven days since its April\u00a07 premiere, making it Bravo\u2019s biggest multiplatform debut this year.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tViewers unfamiliar with the culture of the Northeastern state, which has a population just slightly over one\u00a0million, can find a kindred spirit in <em>The Bachelor <\/em>franchise alum Iaconetti. \u201cOn the show, I\u2019m still considered the outsider,\u201d says the cast member. \u201c[Casting] liked me because I was going to give the perspective of somebody who\u2019s not from Rhode Island.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tNaturally, Rhode Islanders have had a wide range of feelings about the show coming to their area. \u201cAt the beginning, people were so nasty and rude,\u201d says Swanson, who argues that her neighbors should be happy about the potential for increased tourism to the state. \u201cWe always thought Rhode Island was a hidden gem, and it\u2019s time for everybody else to see that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAs a local, however, the 2017 Miss Rhode Island USA isn\u2019t surprised by the reaction, though she adds that some residents have come around with time. \u201cRhode Islanders are pretty aloof, so I knew that there would be some pushback,\u201d says Swanson. \u201cTo be honest, I\u2019m glad that there was.
