Hemecker, Veteran TV Director of \u2018Blue Bloods,\u2019 \u2018Once Upon a Time\u2019 and More, Dies at 65<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s like entering this world as camp counselors this time instead of these nervous campers that we were the first time around,\u201d Baker tells <em>The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> on a recent Zoom. <\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cWe put so much pressure on ourselves just because we loved the movies so much. They were so integral, not just for my formative years, but my peers as well,\u201d she continues. \u201cYou hold so much respect and love for them, so it was a really big deal. But it was still so much fun to film.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tReturning for a second film also meant welcoming a new group of cast mates, who quickly turned into some of Baker\u2019s closest friendships. She\u2019s excited for the \u201cworld to fall in love\u201d with her friends and the new characters. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tAhead of the film\u2019s release, the <em>Descendants<\/em> and <em>Zombies<\/em> casts embarked on a tour, giving Baker the chance to witness fan excitement firsthand. \u201cIt\u2019s so wild to be able to literally watch it unfold in front of you and have people be so excited and joyful around something that\u2019s so close to your heart,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe <em>Descendants<\/em> films are among the most beloved Disney movies in modern time. Baker feels that the films strike a necessary chord of timeless themes and represent young people well, which is why they\u2019ve been able to remain relevant.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tFor Baker, stepping into the character of Chloe meant embracing the legacy of Cinderella and Prince Charming, two of Disney\u2019s most recognizable characters. While audiences were already familiar with Chloe\u2019s parents, the young actress had the opportunity to help define a new character entirely her own.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cI think we all put our hearts and souls into it,\u201d she says. \u201cYes, these are iconic characters, but Chloe Charming has never been done before, which is a lot of trust to put into a person.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/uspropertymoves.com\/?p=4285\">Hollywood Royalty, Michelin-Starred Meal, Cartier Gift Bags: Inside Monaco\u2019s Most Exclusive Event of the Year<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\tWith Disney\u2019s trust in Baker to represent the beloved character over the course of two films, she says she\u2019s found herself growing alongside Chloe. \u201cAs things in your life start changing, you can find different levels and depths to whatever character you\u2019re playing,\u201d she says. \u201cI think Chloe and I have been very fortunate to have been at very similar stages in our lives. It feels like we really are learning these lessons at the same time and inspired by one another\u2019s growth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe actress hopes that <em>Wicked Wonderland<\/em> viewers watch it and enjoy it. \u201cIt can seem like it\u2019s your responsibility to not enjoy something, because it\u2019s not as \u2018serious,\u2019\u201d she says. \u201cBut I think there\u2019s something really magical in being able to learn a great lesson while having fun.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tWhile Chloe Charming may be the role she\u2019s most known for today, sitting at the top of her acting bucket list is Starfire from <em>Teen Titans<\/em>. \u201cI love the role of Starfire, I think she\u2019s the coolest ever she is just such a baddie in her own right,\u201d she says, laughing. \u201cI would swap out the blue for some pink hair any time any place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe actress says a role in a biopic would also be a dream for her. \u201cI don\u2019t know who, what or when, I keep joking with Brandy about playing her,\u201d she says. \u201cI told her I\u2019ll start practicing for it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tWhile Starfire, and maybe a Brandy biopic if she ever gives that call, remain on Baker\u2019s manifestation board, she\u2019s still wrapping her head around the fact that she\u2019s become one of the faces of Disney\u2019s newest generation with <em>Descendants<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cSassy little me would\u2019ve been shocked, flabbergasted, everything in between. It\u2019s still a dream now,\u201d Baker says of her younger self. \u201cI have to have little reminders every now and then.
