Merger<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe series, which marks the first time the story has been adapted for television, is reimagined by showrunner Mike Flanagan (<em>Midnight Mass,<\/em>\u00a0<em>The Haunting of Hill House<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>\n<em>Carrie<\/em>\u00a0will premiere exclusively on Prime Video this fall in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe series will be comprised of eight episodes, expanding on King\u2019s original story about a high school girl with telekinetic powers by \u201cdeepening its characters and tensions\u201d and chronicling a \u201cdeeply human story about kindness versus cruelty, and whether we\u2019re witnessing the making of a hero, a monster, or something far more complicated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tSummer Howell stars as the series\u2019 title character Carrie White. <\/p>\n<p>The show synopsis reads: \u201cMisfit high\u2011schooler Carrie White (Howell) has spent her life hidden away inside the walls of her home with her fiercely protective mother, Margaret (Samantha Sloyan). After her father\u2019s sudden, untimely death thrusts her into the unforgiving ecosystem of public high school, Carrie is forced to navigate a viral bullying scandal that tears through her community, the relentless pressure and casual cruelty of the social\u2011media age, and the awakening of mysterious telekinetic powers that rise alongside her adolescence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/uspropertymoves.com\/?p=3526\">\u2018Monopoly\u2019 Competition Series Based on Board Game Passes Go at Netflix<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\tSloyan (<em>The Pitt<\/em>) stars as Margaret White, Siena Agudong (<em>Resident Evil<\/em>) as Sue Snell, Alison Thornton (<em>Fire Country<\/em>) as Chris Hargensen, Joel Oulette (<em>My Life with the Walter Boys<\/em>) as Tommy Ross, Josie Tota (<em>The Buccaneers<\/em>) as Tina, Arthur Conti (<em>Beetlejuice Beetlejuice<\/em>) as Billy, Thalia Dudek (<em>The Running Man<\/em>) as Emaline, Amber Midthunder (<em>Prey<\/em>) as Miss Desjardin, and Matthew Lillard (<em>Man of Tomorrow<\/em>) as Principal Grayle.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to being the showrunner, Flanagan also writes and exec produces the series. He also directs four episodes.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tKing serves as executive producer on the series from Amazon MGM Studios production.<\/p>\n<p>The author\u2019s debut novel was published in 1974, spent 14 weeks on\u00a0<em>The New York Times<\/em>\u00a0bestseller list and has been translated into more than 35 languages. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tBrian De Palma\u2019s 1976 film adaptation of <em>Carrie<\/em>, which starred Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie, earned an Academy Award nomination for best actress for Spacek and best supporting actress for Laurie.
