\n\tWai Ching Ho, best known for her role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, playing crime boss Madame Gao in Daredevil<\/em>, Iron Fist<\/em> and The Defenders<\/em>, has died. She was 82.<\/p>\n

\n\tHo\u2019s death was confirmed by two of her former co-stars, Peter Shinkoda and Judy Lei. Her cause of death wasn\u2019t immediately available.<\/p>\n

\n\tShinkoda, who played Nobu in Daredevil<\/em>, took to his Instagram to pay tribute. \u201cI won\u2019t ever forget you. I learned every minute from you when we were together on and off set. I know wisdom \u2013 I\u2019d hang on your every word. We will meet again, my friend. You were beautiful,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

\nThe Hollywood Reporter<\/em> has reached out to her rep for more details on her death.<\/p>\n

\n\tBorn on Nov. 16, 1943, in Hong Kong, Ho found herself working across film, television and the stage. Her first onscreen credit was in the series One Life to Live<\/em> in 1983.<\/p>\n

\n\tShe later landed the role of Madame Gao in the Marvel series Daredevil<\/em> in 2015, before reprising the character in the spin-offs Iron Fist<\/em> and The Defenders<\/em> in 2017.<\/p>\n

\n\tHo has also had appearances in Swans Crossing<\/em>, Wonderland<\/em>, Deadline<\/em>, Law & Order: Criminal Intent<\/em>, Children of Invention<\/em>, The Sorcerer\u2019s Apprentice<\/em>, Blue Bloods<\/em>, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit<\/em>, Tracers<\/em>, Orange Is the New Black<\/em>, Fresh Off the Boat<\/em>, New Amsterdam<\/em>, Hustlers<\/em>, The World\u2019s Greatest<\/em>, Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens<\/em>, Law & Order<\/em> and Only Murders in the Building<\/em>, among others.<\/p>\n

\n\tHer voice could also be recognized for voicing Grandma Wu in the Pixar animated film Turning Red<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs for the stage, Ho starred in the Off-Broadway play Laowang: A Chinatown King Lear<\/em> last year, as well as Snow in Midsummer<\/em> in 2022 and Celine Song\u2019s play Endlings<\/em> in 2020.<\/p>\n

\n\tLei, who starred alongside Ho in 2022\u2019s The World\u2019s Greatest<\/em>, which she also wrote and directed, wrote on Instagram that she\u2019s \u201cso sad to hear of her passing,\u201d adding, \u201cWai Ching was super kind and generous when she played the Chinese School teacher in my first film back in 2019. We had lost our filming location close to midnight the night before and I broke the news to her in the morning. She came to the new location, all prepped and ready to play\u2014she even brought her own outfit. I forgot to have her sign some paperwork and went to her home a few days later to have her sign it. She never displayed an ounce of disappointment in my lack of experience. That type of grace is something I\u2019ll never forget.\u201d<\/p>\n
