The filmmaker, who is in production on his upcoming <em>The Housemaid <\/em>sequel, is set to direct the horror feature <em>Detention<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/uspropertymoves.com\/?p=3390\">Nicolas Johnson, Son of Entertainment Attorney Matt Johnson, Dies at 28<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe film will be Feig\u2019s first horror movie after gaining fame directing comedies such as <em>Bridesmaids<\/em> and dipping into the thriller genre with <em>A Simple Favor<\/em> and <em>The Housemaid<\/em>. While its logline is being kept under wraps, <em>Detention<\/em> is said to involve now-grown classmates who reconnect and discover a disturbing secret.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tFeig and Laura Fischer will produce via Pretty Dangerous, as will Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller. Steven Schneider, Bea Sequeira and Daniel Gold are executive producers of the project, which hails from Blumhouse Atomic Monster. Fuller shepherded the script and got Feig on board.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tNo studio is attached, but Universal is a prime candidate given its relationship with Blumhouse Atomic Monster.<\/p>\n<p>\n<em>Detention<\/em> began life as a spec script from Gold, the screenwriter who has been on a hot streak lately, selling the spec <em>Tough Guys<\/em> to Amazon MGM Studios for Gosling and Ferrell to star and produce, and landing the plumb assignment of writing <em>Ride Along 3<\/em>, also for Universal.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/uspropertymoves.com\/?p=3388\">Where to Watch \u2018Big Brother\u2019 Season 28 Episodes, Live Feeds and After Show Online<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\tNo actors are attached at this phase to <em>Detention<\/em>, and the hope is for this to be Feig\u2019s next movie after he wraps <em>The Housemaid\u2019s Secret<\/em> for Lionsgate.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tFeig is at a high point thanks to <em>The Housemaid<\/em>, which punched above its weight class to earn more than $400 million globally on a $35 million budget. <em>The Housemaid\u2019s Secret<\/em> reteams Feig with star Sydney Sweeney, and has Kirsten Dunst joining the franchise. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tFeig is repped by CAA, Sloane Offer and the Lede Company.
