\nJustin Baldoni is breaking his silence after the lengthy legal battle with his It Ends With Us<\/em> co-star, Blake Lively, came to an end earlier this year.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a nearly five-minute-long video posted on his Instagram Wednesday evening, Justin, sitting next to his wife, Emily Baldoni, explained his silence and how they\u2019ve been as a family over the last few years since the case that captivated Hollywood\u00a0first erupted in August 2024.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe have not spoken publicly for the better part of the last two years, and it\u2019s not because we haven\u2019t had anything to say, because Lord knows we have, but it just felt like every time we went to make a video like this, we wanted to speak, something was telling us not to. It just didn\u2019t feel like the right time,\u201d Baldoni, who directed and starred in the movie about author Colleen Hoover\u2019s book, began.<\/p>\n

\n\tHowever, it seems Wednesday finally felt like the right time, more than two months after Justin and Lively reached a settlement weeks before the case about alleged sexual harassment on the set of\u00a0It Ends With Us<\/em> was scheduled for trial. The legal battle ultimately ended with Justin being ordered by the court to pay Lively\u2019s attorneys\u2019 fees, but no additional money for damages.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the new video, the couple expressed that \u201cgratitude has saved us\u201d over the last two years, but Emily added that the gratitude they feel now also \u201cdoesn\u2019t negate the injustice and the pain that we have also felt in the last few years.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe\u2019ve had to wrestle with so many things and try to understand so many things, like, how could something like this even happen? Let alone disguised as a fight for women. So much to unpack. And the reality is that there\u2019s been a lot of trauma for us to move through as a family, which also makes it hard to speak,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n

\n\tJustin added that there\u2019s \u201cbeen so many painful things that have been spoken into existence over the last couple years, and that created so much noise, and we didn\u2019t want to add to the noise. We just wanted to let the justice system run its course.\u201d Emily also said that \u201cthe truth and the facts have spoken for themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLater in the Instagram video, the Jane the Virgin<\/em> alum gave an update for his fans on how they\u2019re currently doing.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe are healing,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd if you\u2019ve ever been through something traumatic, you know that healing isn\u2019t linear. It looks different every day. And we have had to rethink for ourselves what is real and what matters. And it\u2019s this. It\u2019s the kids. It\u2019s our family. It\u2019s our friends. It\u2019s our community who\u2019ve been there for us. It\u2019s our faith. I think we\u2019re closer and more devoted and steadfast in our faith than we\u2019ve ever been.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tJustin continued, \u201cAlso, this has been on both of our hearts. There were so many of you who, when we didn\u2019t have a voice, were our voice. You had a prayer at the very beginning, which was that you just pray that people would have discernment. And so many of you had discernment and you used your intuition and you trusted that. And you have given your time to fight for us. And thank you does not feel like enough, but we\u2019re here in large part because of so many of you and all of our friends and family. And one thing that we\u2019ve learned is that when God presses the reset button and everything else is stripped away, that that\u2019s when love shows up. And we feel so loved.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThey concluded the video by saying that \u201cthere is so much more to say,\u201d but for now, \u201cwe are going to focus on continuing the healing and hanging out with our kiddos and enjoying life.\u201d<\/p>\n
