Over the course of several episodes, Roxie makes the decision to remain in the hospital to die, rather than return home to hospice care with her two sons and husband, due to the amount of pain she is in and the burden of remaining at home.\u00a0As Roxie, Allen appears in seven of <em>The Pitt\u2019<\/em>s 15-episode second season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201c<em>The Pitt<\/em> has hundreds of performers and we simply, just strategically, can\u2019t submit everybody. It\u2019s just the reality. But we encourage people to self-submit and I love that she got nominated,\u201d Casey Bloys, HBO and Max Content Chair and CEO, said when asked about Allen in an interview with <em>The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tWhile her character has a big emotional arc in the season, Allen brought to light the fact that she was self-submitting herself for Emmy consideration, saying in an Instagram post on June 15 that HBO did not submit her, \u201cI\u2019m running my own #FYC campaign!\u201d she wrote at the time.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\tKober, who played Duke Ekins, a motorcycle mechanic and friend of Wyle\u2019s Dr. Robby, also received an outstanding guest actor nomination after self-submitting.
