\nMichael Bay is enlisting for an Operation Epic Fury movie, The Hollywood Reporter <\/em>has confirmed.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Universal Pictures film is based on the true story of April\u2019s rescue of two downed American pilots in Iran after their F-15E Strike Eagle\u00a0was struck down during the United States\u2019 attack on the country. It is based on Mitchell Zuckoff\u2019s forthcoming book about the rescue mission, which arrives via Harper Collins in 2027.<\/p>\n

\n\tBay will direct and produce with Erwin Stoff and Scott Gardenhour.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe filmmaker is known for working with the U.S. military on previous projects, consulting with it on movies such as The Rock<\/em>, Armageddon<\/em>, Pearl Harbor<\/em>, Transformers<\/em> and 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi<\/em>. The latter film was based on a book by Zuckoff, the journalist and professor of communications at Boston University.<\/p>\n

\n\tBay\u2019s movies have grossed more than $10 billion at the global box office. He was most recently in theaters with the 2022 crime thriller Ambulance<\/em> starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Yayha Abdul-Mateen II. He is known for two Bad Boys<\/em> movies and Pain & Gain<\/em>. Though he has not directed a feature since 2022, he is also active as a producer via his Platinum Dunes, where he produces the A Quiet Place<\/em> movies and The Purge<\/em> franchise.<\/p>\n
