Disney has renewed its anime-inspired series Dragon Striker<\/em> for a second season.<\/p>\n

The news is being shared Thursday at Anime Expo in Los Angeles during the sports fantasy series\u2019 panel.<\/p>\n

Dragon Striker<\/em>\u2018s official logline is:\u00a0\u201cIn a world where sports and magic combine, farm boy Key discovers his ultra-powerful natural talent and learns he could be the legendary Dragon Striker. Set at Kal\u00a0Asterock, an elite school for students who wield a magical energy called Tama, Key joins goalkeeper\u00a0Ssyelle\u00a0on a\u00a0scrappy new team to challenge the school champions. As he struggles with the raging dragon inside him and\u00a0Ssyelle\u00a0fights to hold her team together, they learn dark secrets of the past and uncover an ancient evil.\u201d<\/p>\n

In season two, \u201cthe Knights face broken friendships, buried secrets and ancient evil as they fight to reach the Banner\u2019s Helm final and risk everything for victory.\u201d<\/p>\n

The second season will debut in early 2027 across Disney+ and Disney XD. See a first-look image from the upcoming season, above.<\/p>\n

Dragon Striker<\/em> features a voice cast including Akshay Kumar\u00a0as Key, Rebecca LaChance\u00a0as Ssyelle, Yeukayi Ushe\u00a0as Milo, Waylon Jacobs\u00a0as Odward and Evanna Lynch\u00a0as Ameline.<\/p>\n

Kevin Penkin\u00a0(Made in Abyss, Star Wars: Visions<\/em>) is the series composer. The score was recorded in Japan with an 80-piece orchestra. The theme song, \u201cPower of the Dragon,\u201d was written and produced by Cash Callaway and performed by Sarah West. The end credits song, \u201cThe Very End,\u201d was written and performed by Kieran Rhodes.<\/p>\n

From Disney Kids & Family, the series is produced by La Chouette Compagnie (Droners<\/em>, the upcoming Dreamland<\/em>) in association with Disney Television Animation. The lead creative team, who have worked on numerous animated adventure series in France, Japan and the U.S., includes Sylvain Dos Santos (co-creator\/executive producer), Charles Lefebvre (co-creator\/director) and Paul McKeown\u00a0(head writer).<\/p>\n
