\nDonald Trump was asked Wednesday by reporters if he sees himself in Pratt, as they were both former reality TV stars who entered politics. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019d like to see him do well, he\u2019s a character,\u201d Trump replied (video below). \u201cI assume he probably supports me. Does he support me?\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tA reporter off camera replied, \u201cI think so.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI heard he does,\u201d Trump continued. \u201cI heard he\u2019s a big MAGA person. He\u2019s doing well.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThen Trump went on a tangent about \u201crigged\u201d ballots. <\/p>\n

\n\tPratt is registered as a Republican but has taken pains to downplay his party affiliation \u2014 and distance himself from Trump \u2014 in his effort to unseat unpopular incumbent Karen Bass in the heavily Democratic city. <\/p>\n

\n\tBass and L.A. City Council member Nithya Raman\u00a0\u2014 who is also in the race \u2014 have repeatedly tried to link Pratt to Trump during the campaign. While Trump\u2019s statement wasn\u2019t a full-throated endorsement, the comments will almost certainly be used by Pratt\u2019s opponents \u2014 particularly the \u201cbig MAGA person\u201d line.<\/p>\n

\n\tPreviously, Raman claimed on X, \u201cDonald Trump is about to endorse Spencer \u2026 we need to raise more [money] to prove that LA doesn\u2019t want a MAGA Republican mayor who lives in the Bel Air hotel.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPratt replied by tweeting: \u201cI have the only endorsement I need. Moms and animal lovers who want to feel safe.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tAs for his political affiliation, Pratt has previously said, \u201cI represent all of Los Angeles. I do not represent a party. I don\u2019t have a campaign manager. I don\u2019t have campaign consultants. There\u2019s no political party backing me.\u201d<\/p>\n
