\n\tParamount has become the new linear TV home for Harry Potter<\/em> and Fantastic Beasts<\/em> movies after signing a a multiyear licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe deal, coming as the Paramount-WBD merger nears the finish line, covers 11 films and will kick off with marathon play for the eight\u00a0Harry Potter\u00a0<\/em>tentpoles adapting J.K. Rowling\u2019s novel series and three\u00a0Fantastic Beasts\u00a0<\/em>spinoffs on MTV, Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite and Paramount Network, starting on July 3.<\/p>\n

\n\tParamount\u2019s $111\u00a0billion takeover of Warner Bros. aims to transform the studio into a theatrical and news giant amid competition in Hollywood from tech giants like Netflix, Amazon and Apple. The licensing agreement comes on the the 25th anniversary of the film\u00a0Harry Potter and the Sorcerer\u2019s Stone<\/em>,\u00a0with director\u00a0Chris Columbus\u2018 feature becoming first installment in Warner Bros.\u2019 eight-movie series that has surpassed $7.7 billion at the global box office.<\/p>\n
