\n\tThe popular podcaster and media mogul commented Wednesday about allegations that Unwell \u201cfosters a toxic work environment.\u201d Earlier this month, a Vanity Fair<\/em> report citing more than 40 sources alleged that Matt Kaplan \u2014 Cooper\u2019s husband and Unwell business partner \u2014 was verbally abusive to staffers (who accused Kaplan of screaming, asking about their sex lives and making inappropriate comments about their physical appearance). In April, a Bloomberg<\/em> report similarly claimed that Kaplan would berate the staff.<\/p>\n

\n\tCooper was asked about the reports during a conversation with The Wall Street Journal<\/em> advertising editor Suzanne Vranica at Cannes. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI will say that building a startup, there is so much growth that comes with that, and I am extremely proud of what we have built at Unwell,\u201d the Call Her Daddy<\/em> host said. \u201cAnd I will just kind of leave it at \u2018don\u2019t believe everything that you read on the internet\u2019 \u2014\u00a0but I think everyone knows that at this point.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tVranica noted the stories clearly indicate \u201csome employees that feel some way\u201d and pressed: \u201cDo you think these allegations are a statement [that\u2019s] more about how this generation of employees\u2019 expectations have just changed? Or do you think you have a real problem?\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI think that we have done a really incredible job at Unwell, and I think if you walk the halls, there are so many people that are so happy to work at this company,\u201d Cooper replied. \u201cI think, unfortunately, being a woman in this industry is extremely difficult because you\u2019re held to a complete different standard. Whether it\u2019s a smear campaign being created for someone\u2019s narrative \u2014 whatever it be.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI think when you read lies about yourself to fuel something else that is an obvious situation going on, it\u2019s hard. But I think the reason that I\u2019ve had success in this industry is I have really thick skin, and I\u2019m going to keep pushing forward,\u201d she concluded. <\/p>\n

\n\tCooper and Kaplan wed in 2024 and, in May, announced they are expecting their first child. Call Her Daddy<\/em>\u00a0was the\u00a0fourth most popular podcast\u00a0in the world in 2025, according to Spotify\u2019s year-end list. Cooper struck a $125 million multiyear deal in 2024 to bring her podcast and the network to SiriusXM from Spotify.\u00a0<\/p>\n
