\n\tCongrats on not killing your mom, Kanan. On Tuesday, Starz released the trailer for the fifth and final season of Power Book III: Raising Kanan<\/em>, revealing the return of Raquel Thomas (Patina Miller) and settling season four\u2019s big cliffhanger.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe prior season of Raising Kanan<\/em> ended with a gun pointed at Raq\u2019s head. The young man on the other end was her own son, the Power<\/em> spinoff\u2019s title character, who blames mom for the death of his best friend and girlfriend. Well Kanan (MeKai Curtis), yes, your mom sucks \u2014 but you also just lost some serious protection in the game.<\/p>\n

\n\tSeason five follows Kanan and Breeze (Shameik Moore) on the serious come up in the Southside. Fans of the OG Power<\/em> know Kanan as the kingpin played by Curtis \u201c50 Cent\u201d Jackson. This final season of prequel Raising Kanan<\/em>, which will lead directly into the next<\/em> prequel in the Power <\/em>universe, Power: Origins<\/em>, sees Kanan\u2019s \u201ctrue ruthlessness\u201d taking shape, per the Starz synopsis. \u201cHe knows exactly who he is and who he must become to defeat his enemies.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAs his relationship with Raq reaches a point of no return, and any chance of reconciliation becomes a distant memory, war is inevitable,\u201d it continues. \u201cKanan solidifies his place in the Queens drug game alongside Breeze, the Southside legend, and their alliance sets the stage for a reckoning that will ripple through every player in this dangerous business. Many sacrifices will be made, whether it\u2019s the Thomas family facing the collapse of their reign, Unique fighting to preserve his legacy or the Mafia maneuvering behind the scenes.
