\n\tAfter some time to recover from the One Battle After Another <\/em>awards season whirlwind, Teyana Taylor is hitting Tribeca for a talk presented by Through Her Lens: The Tribeca Chanel Women\u2019s Filmmaker Program. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe event, put on as part of Tribeca\u2019s Storytellers Series, is set for June 7 at the Tribeca Festival\u2018s hub at Spring Studios and will see Taylor diving into discussions around mentorship, creative leadership and opportunities for female storytellers.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cJoining the Through Her Lens Advisory Committee with Tribeca and Chanel felt personal to me because I know how powerful it is when women are given the space, support and confidence to fully step into their vision,\u201d Taylor said in a statement. \u201cThat\u2019s what Through Her Lens is about \u2014 empowering women to tell bold, honest stories in their own voice. I\u2019m proud to be part of something with Chanel that\u2019s creating that kind of lasting impact.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSince 2015, Through Her Lens: The Tribeca Chanel Women\u2019s Filmmaker Program has supported and mentored emerging filmmakers through an annual workshop and development grants. The program\u2019s Advisory Committee includes Jane Fonda, Patty Jenkins, Laura Karpman, Lucy Liu, A.V. Rockwell, Tessa Thompson, Kerry Washington and Olivia Wilde alongside Taylor. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cTeyana Taylor has never waited for permission to define herself. She\u2019s built a career on instinct, originality and fearless creativity,\u201d said Tribeca Festival co-founder Jane Rosenthal. \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to welcome her to Tribeca and to the Through Her Lens Advisory Committee. I know her artistry and perspective will resonate with so many women and storytellers.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Through Her Lens workshop includes mentorship focused on script-to-screen development, music composition, costume design, producing and directing. Five participating film teams work with mentors to refine their projects and pitches, ending in a final presentation to a jury of industry leaders. One team receives full financing to produce their short film with support from Tribeca Studios; the remaining four projects are awarded development grants. Submissions for the 2026 program are now open, with the 11th annual workshop will taking place in September. <\/p>\n

\n\tSince its inception, Through Her Lens has supported 50 short films and 100 emerging filmmakers, with 10 projects receiving full production funding and premiering at festivals including Tribeca, Sundance and TIFF; nine out of 10 winning filmmakers identified as women of color and nearly 70 percent of all participants identified as women or nonbinary filmmakers of color.<\/p>\n
