\n\tThe artist was among six killed when two helicopters collided in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, in the Southwest zone of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Sunday morning, the Associated Press and CNN Brazil reported.<\/p>\n

\nThe Hollywood Reporter <\/em>has reached out to Tree\u2019s rep, but did not hear back at the time of publication.<\/p>\n

\n\tBorn Oliver Tree Nickell on June 29, 1993, in Santa Cruz, California, he rose to fame on Vine in 2016 with his alter ego \u201cTurbo,\u201d who sported a signature bowl cut, oversized clothing and an eccentric persona. That same year, he released his first hit song, \u201cWhen I\u2019m Down,\u201d which ultimately put him on the map and led him to sign with Atlantic Records in 2017.<\/p>\n

\n\tThroughout his career, he\u2019s utilized several different characters and performance eras, as well as used a mix of internet trolling and meme marketing to promote his music.<\/p>\n

\n\tTree\u2019s released four studio albums with Atlantic, including Ugly Is Beautiful<\/em> (2020), Cowboy Tears <\/em>(2022), Alone in a Crowd <\/em>(2023), and his most recent, Love You Madly, Hate You Badly<\/em>, which dropped in April. He also previously released an independent album, Splitting Branches<\/em>, under his earlier alias \u201cTree\u201d in 2013.<\/p>\n

\n\tHis most notable tracks include \u201cLife Goes On,\u201d \u201cMiss You\u201d with Robin Schulz, \u201cCash Mashine,\u201d \u201cAlien Boy,\u201d \u201cHurt\u201d and \u201cJerk.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition to writing and producing his music, he also had a passion for directing, typically helming his own music videos that are known for their highly theatrical and eccentric style. Some of his most popular music videos are \u201cLife Goes On,\u201d which has more than 464 million views on YouTube, and \u201cMiss You,\u201d which has 382 million-plus views on the video streaming platform.<\/p>\n

\n\tOutside of entertainment, he also set the Guinness World Record for the world\u2019s largest kick scooter in 2020.<\/p>\n
