\n\t\u201cTwenty years after her last visit to Sarajevo, we are truly delighted to welcome Emily Watson back to the festival \u2014 this time not only as the recipient of the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo, but also as President of the Competition Jury,\u201d said festival director Jovan Marjanovi\u0107.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAn actress whose talent, intelligence and dedication to the craft have left a profound mark on contemporary cinema, Emily Watson has, throughout her remarkable career, moved audiences and critics alike with performances of extraordinary emotional precision and strength.\u201d He added: \u201cI believe the filmmakers in this year\u2019s programme will be just as excited as we are to know that she will be watching their work in Sarajevo.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tA two-time Oscar nominee, Watson is one of the U.K.\u2019s most prolific actors. She most recently starred as Mary Shakespeare in the adaptation of Maggie O\u2019Farrell\u2019s novel Hamnet<\/em>, which would go on to win the BAFTA for outstanding British film.<\/p>\n

\n\tOther notable film credits include Lars von Trier\u2019s Breaking the Waves<\/em>, A24\u2019s God\u2019s Creatures<\/em>, Small Things Like These<\/em> with Cillian Murphy, Netflix drama Steve<\/em>, as well as Gosford Park<\/em>, Punch-Drunk Love<\/em>, Miss Potter<\/em> and The Theory of Everything<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\tOn television, she has starred opposite Olivia Williams and Mark Strong in HBO Max\u2019s Dune: Prophecy<\/em> as well as in Chernobyl <\/em>with Jared Harris and Stellan Skarsgard, The Dresser<\/em>, and Apple Tree Yard<\/em>. Watson also boasts extensive theatre credits including a slew of productions with the Royal Shakespeare Company.<\/p>\n
