The Emmy nominee will also be an executive producer of <em>Discretion<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tParamount+ landed <em>Discretion<\/em> in October 2025 with a straight-to-series order following a bidding war for the project, which is based on a short story by Chandler Baker. The drama was the first big series greenlight for Paramount direct-to-consumer chief Cindy Holland, who formally joined the company after the Skydance acquisition.<\/p>\n<p>\n<em>Discretion<\/em> stars Fanning as Lenny, a summer associate at a big law firm in Dallas who \u201cuncovers a web of NDAs masking a dark truth,\u201d the show\u2019s logline reads. \u201cWhen she realizes she signed the same agreement, her discoveries put her in the crosshairs of the firm\u2019s most powerful female partner, Sharon (Kidman) \u2014 upending their mentor-prot\u00e9g\u00e9 dynamic and raising the question: Who gets to keep secrets, and at what cost?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/uspropertymoves.com\/?p=1584\">\u2018Playing POTUS\u2019 Review: Documentary From \u2018Barb and Star\u2019 Director Makes a Fun but Limited Impression<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\tShakman and Fanning previously worked together on <em>The Great<\/em> at Hulu: He directed that show\u2019s pilot, earning his first of three career Emmy nominations.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tBaker is writing and executive producing <em>Discretion<\/em>. Also exec producing are Susannah Grant (<em>Unbelievable, Erin Brockovich<\/em>); Elle Fanning, Dakota Fanning and Brittany Kahan Ward of Lewellen Pictures; Kidman and Per Saari for Blossom Films; Jordan Cerf of Linden Entertainment; Joe Hipps of A24-based Cut To; and Shakman.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tShakman has a long, eclectic list of TV directing credits that includes episodes <em>Succession, Game of Thrones, It\u2019s Always Sunny in Philadelphia<\/em> and <em>Mad Men<\/em>, among others. He was also Emmy-nominated for directing <em>WandaVision<\/em> and shared in the Marvel\/Disney+ show\u2019s 2021 nod for best limited or anthology series. He recently helmed the pilot and finale for Apple TV\u2019s upcoming <em>Wild Things<\/em>, starring Jude Law and Andrew Garfield.
