\n\tThe right-of-center (they\u2019d say \u201cperfectly center\u201d) media network is airing a special on Saturday titled Reality Check: Road to Disclosure<\/em>, hosted by Ross Coulthart from the Australian premiere of Steven Spielberg\u2019s Disclosure Day<\/em>. The hour-long special borrows Coulthart\u2019s Reality Check<\/em> podcast title; NewsNation has already borrowed its premise for companion series\u00a0Unreported With Meagan Medick.<\/em> Coulthart is a big name in the disclosure movement, a social and political campaign pushing for the declassification and release of secret files regarding UFOs, Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), and non-human intelligence \u2014 however, it is another<\/em> NewsNation correspondent, Jessica Kartajilla, who serves as the bridge here between the Hollywood blockbuster and cable news channel.<\/p>\n

\n\tKartajilla played a TV anchor (the highly coveted \u201cAnchor 2\u201d role) in the film, which stars Josh O\u2019Connor,\u00a0Emily Blunt,\u00a0Colman Domingo,\u00a0Colin Firth,\u00a0Eve Hewson\u00a0and\u00a0Wyatt Russell. (None of them play \u201cAnchor 1,\u201d if you were wondering \u2014 that was ABC News freelance anchor Lionel Moise.) Kartajilla has also appeared in House of Cards<\/em> and HBO\u2019s Servant<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAt a time when UAPs are part of the national conversation, being part of Disclosure Day<\/em> is surreal,\u201d Kartajilla told The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>. \u201cHaving the opportunity to work with Spielberg, was (pun intended), totally out of this world.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI think Steven Spielberg is a masterful storyteller. I loved the way it brought in psionics,\u201d Coulthart told THR<\/em>. \u201cIt brought in the risks of catastrophic disclosure\u2026It\u2019s a beautiful film. It\u2019s profoundly moving. I\u2019m not going to deny I had a little tear in my eye at the end of the film because I cared passionately about the message that it delivered. And the message that it delivered is that the public had a right to know that we are not alone.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nReality Check: Road to Disclosure<\/em> will include an interview with Spielberg as well \u2014 just not an original. NewsNation will borrow that from KTLA, the Fox affiliate in Los Angeles. Nexstar owns both channels.<\/p>\n

\n\tNewsNation describes the special as a \u201ccinematic, investigative journey through the history of UFO disclosure. From ancient sightings and the \u2018Roswell Incident\u2019 to modern-day whistleblowers, congressional hearings, and declassified files, the special will explore the people, events and unanswered questions that fuel global fascination with the unexplained phenomena.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nReality Check: Road to Disclosure<\/em> will feature analysis, archival footage and celebrity interviews, along with \u201creactions to Disclosure Day<\/em>.\u201d Those have been quite positive.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn his review, The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>\u2018s chief film critic, David Rooney, called Disclosure Day<\/em> \u201cspellbinding,\u201d so that\u2019s a pretty good endorsement. Read his full review here.<\/p>\n
