Discovery, but the company has been cleared to close the acquisition by regulators in Australia and New Zealand.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/uspropertymoves.com\/?p=1538\">Art Directors Guild Claps Back at Martin Scorsese\u2019s Promotion of AI Tool<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cIn connection with the merger, on June 9, 2026, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) published its decision that the merger may be consummated, subject to expiration of a 14-calendar-day waiting period,\u201d Paramount disclosed in a regulatory filing on Wednesday. \u201cThe waiting period is scheduled to expire at 10:00 a.m., Eastern Time, on June 23, 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn its decision, the ACCC concluded that the megadeal was \u201cunlikely to have the effect of substantially lessening competition in relation to the wholesale supply of films for theatrical release in Australia,\u201d Paramount said in its filing. While it would remove competition between Paramount and Warner Brothers, \u201cthe merged entity would continue to be constrained by other film studios post-acquisition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAnd, according to the filing, the ACCC added: \u201c[T]he merged entity is unlikely to have a sufficiently strong position in the supply of wholesale [audiovisual] content to enable it to successfully foreclose rivals\u2019 access to [audiovisual] content.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/uspropertymoves.com\/?p=1537\">\u2018Summer House\u2019 Sets Bonus Episode Filmed After the Reunion \u2014 All the Details<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn addition, on June 5, the New Zealand Commerce Commission (NZCC) informed Paramount Skydance that \u201cit does not intend to consider the merger further,\u201d Wednesday\u2019s filing highlighted. \u201cThe relevant clearance regime is voluntary, and the NZCC does not give informal clearances to parties.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe company also touted other recent international moves in favor of the planned mega-combination.
