\nJust in Time <\/em>has recouped its $12.5 million capitalization, becoming the first Broadway musical of the 2024-25 season to reach that milestone.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe musical, about singer Bobby Darrin, began performances March 31, 2025, at Broadway\u2019s Circle in the Square Theatre, and opened April 26, with Jonathan Groff originating the role of Darrin and singing hits such as \u201cBeyond the Sea\u201d and \u201cSplish Splash.\u201d The musical, directed by Alex Timbers, has been well attended throughout its run and has broken multiple weekly box office gross records at the theater.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe musical hit its highest gross, of just over $2 million, during Groff\u2019s final week in the show at the end of March, but even in recent weeks has been bringing in more than $800,000.\u00a0Matthew Morrison took over Groff\u2019s role for several weeks. Jeremy Jordan currently stars as Darrin.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe recoupment marks a rarity among musicals, as production costs have risen, making it difficult for many shows to recoup, or even to stay open. Just in Time<\/em> is only the musical to have announced recoupment from its season and one of only a few in the recent years to reach that milestone, including The Outsiders <\/em>(from the 2024-25 season), Six <\/em>(2021-22) MJ <\/em>(2021-22) & Juliet<\/em> and Moulin Rouge!<\/em><\/p>\n

\n\tThree shows from the 2025-26 season have recouped their capitalization, but all have been celebrity-driven plays. The most recent was Every Brilliant Thing,<\/em> starring Daniel Radcliffe, which announced its recoupment of its $5.75 million Broadway capitalization in early May.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition to Jordan, the current cast of Just in Time <\/em>includes The Pitt<\/em>\u2018s Isa Briones, Carrie St. Louis, Debbie Gravitte, Joe Barbara.\u00a0Emily Bergl, Lance Roberts and\u00a0Caesar Samayoa.<\/p>\n
