\nRichard Gere just might be his son Homer Gere\u2019s number one fan. <\/p>\n

\n\tDuring a recent interview with People<\/em>, the Pretty Woman<\/em> star, 76, opened up about his 26-year-old son following in his acting footsteps.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m proud of him on two levels,\u201d he said. \u201cOne, he\u2019s really good. He really kind of preternaturally knows what he\u2019s doing. But he\u2019s also handling it really well. He\u2019s a good kid. He\u2019s a really good young man who kind of gets it, and this is not an easy job. Not everyone can function within it. So I think he can stay.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHomer recently caught people\u2019s attention with his breakout role as Dylan Reid on two episodes of Sam Levinson\u2019s\u00a0Euphoria<\/em>, notably his sex scene with Sydney Sweeney, who played Cassie Howard, in season three.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI still need to see his second episode of\u00a0Euphoria<\/em>,\u201d Richard admitted, \u201cbut he has this big thing coming up with Ryan Murphy, and he just finished shooting a film with Oliver Stone.\u201d He quipped afterward, \u201cSo I can retire now. I\u2019m passing the torch.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tHomer will next star alongside Kaia Gerber, Igby Rigney, Graham Campbell and Hayes Warner on The Shards<\/em>, based on a book by Bret Easton Ellis. The series was co-created by Ellis and Ryan Murphy. As for Richard, who became a Hollywood heartthrob in the 1980s following his role in American Gigolo<\/em>, he returns to screens in The Agency<\/em> season two on June 21.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI don\u2019t think he\u2019s got to make a life choice to commit to this if he\u2019s doing this now,\u201d the Maybe I Do<\/em> actor added of his son\u2019s acting career. \u201cHe\u2019s good at it and he\u2019s having fun, but he can become a rock climber if he wants to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tRichard shares Homer with his\u00a0ex-wife Carey Lowell. He also has two younger children with his wife, Alejandra Silva.<\/p>\n
