Running June 17-26, Rainance is overall screening 85 narrative and documentary features, including 48 films by first-time filmmakers, and 112 short films. Plus, the 11th edition of Raindance Immersive will showcase 27 projects.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cSome films can\u2019t wait, and we at Raindance can\u2019t wait to share this year\u2019s selection of must-see indie films,\u201d said Raindance founder Elliot Grove. Highlighting the mission to \u201cchampion emerging filmmakers along with under-the-radar films that other festivals may overlook,\u201d he urged cinema fans to \u201ccome join our celebration of indie cinema in the heart of London.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe U.K. premiere of Michel K. Parandi\u2019s debut feature <em>April X<\/em>, a near-future thriller starring Storrie  (<em>Heated Rivalry<\/em>) and Lilly Krug (<em>Shattered<\/em>, <em>Plane<\/em>), will open the festival. The opening gala will also feature \u201cthe first and exclusive festival screening of the Gorillaz\u2019s short film <em>The Mountain, the Moon Cave and the Sad God<\/em> (directors: Jamie Hewlett, Timothy McCourt, Jonathan Djob Nkondo), an animated short by the English virtual band Gorillaz from their latest album <em>The Mountain<\/em>,\u201d the fest said.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/uspropertymoves.com\/?p=125\">\u2018Madame\u2019 Takes Us Inside Paris\u2019 Opulent Golden Triangle and a Gilded Cage (Exclusive Cannes Clip)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe closing gala will feature the U.K. premiere screening of the documentary Eddie Cochran: Don\u2019t Forget Me, directed by Kirsty Bell, an authorized film about the rock &amp; roll icon behind such hits as \u201cC\u2019mon Everybody\u201d and \u201cSummertime Blues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tOther films set for Raindance include Katie Camosy\u2019s <em>Gaslit<\/em>, a fracking doc executive produced by Jane Fonda, Rhys Frake-Waterfield\u2019s <em>Pinocchio: Unstrung<\/em>, starring horror icon Englund as Jiminy Cricket, the short film <em>Psychopomp<\/em>, the directorial debut of Harington and such world premieres as <em>Rooted Out: Chapter 1<\/em>, the directorial debut of <em>Boiling Point<\/em> producer Freddie Hutton-Mills.
