The one-of-a-kind ping-pong table inspired by Spider-Man and featuring a signature from late comic book icon Stan Lee, who created the character with artist Steve Ditko, has hit the market from 11 Ravens for $480,000. The table, made entirely in L.A., features a red spider web motif and was designed as both “a museum-quality work of functional sculpture and a championship-caliber game table,” per 11 Ravens. The company said it will also be a one-of-one as there are no plans to make any others like it.

“For 15 years, our mission has been to transform game tables into collectible works of art,” explained 11 Ravens founder and CEO) Michael Zaretsky, who also happens to be a former professional ping-pong player. “This piece represents the culmination of that philosophy. Every material, every surface, and every detail was considered with the goal of creating an object that is as extraordinary as it is functional.”

11 Ravens, notable as the only gaming furniture brand to have a showroom at West Hollywood’s Pacific Design Center, offered details about the table by confirming it was constructed over more than 1,000 hours by master artisans. It features a floating structural framework that was precision-machined using aerospace-grade aluminum.

The sculptural base is composed of individually cast museum-grade translucent resin that was hand-polished through multiple finishing stages to create optical depth and luminosity. Metallic components received a black PVD titanium, a premium vapor deposition coating hailed for durability and satin appearance, a technique commonly found in Swiss watchmaking and auto engineering.

Lee’s signature, which was permanently preserved from when he originally signed a ping-pong table, is placed at the center of the playing surface. Lee was the legendary writer, editor and publisher of Marvel Comics who created or co-created such globally recognized characters as Black Panther, Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Mighty Thor, Iron Man, the Fantastic Four, the Incredible Hulk, Daredevil and Ant-Man, among countless others. He died at 95 in November 2018.
