“Kelly sends her love. Kelly had a little bit, well, not a little, she had gum graft surgery,” Consuelos said at the top of the popular morning show.
The medical procedure involves transferring tissue from a patient’s palate to the area where their gums havereceded. Consuelos said Ripa’s doctor recommended the dental surgery five years ago, and she joked at the time, “I didn’t think I’d still be on the air in five years!”
Kevin Jonas from the Jonas Brothers stepped in to replace Ripa on Monday and will return on Tuesday to the co-hosting table. Live! With Kelly and Mark, which features interviews with celebrity guests, is syndicated by Disney Entertainment and produced by WABC in New York.
