‘In the City’ Reunion Recap: Lindsay and Whitney Clash, Amanda and West Haven’t Said “I Love You”

There’s more drama in New York City.
Bravo aired part one of the In the City reunion Tuesday night, bringing together Lindsay Hubbard, Kyle Cooke, Amanda Batula, Danielle Olivera, Eoin Heavey, Andrea Denver, Lexi Sundin, Nick Barber, Yvonne Najor, Georgina Ferzil, Whitney Fransway, Kenny Martin and Gavin Moseley for the Summer House spinoff’s first-ever reunion. Sitting down with Andy Cohen, the cast revisited the season’s biggest moments — and everything that’s unfolded since season one wrapped filming.
The reunion opened with Amanda, who shared an update on her relationship with West Wilson. After addressing the viral photos from Italy that made it look like she was spitting into his mouth — “It was an olive,” she clarified — Amanda also reflected on the Summer House reunion, admitting she was on beta blockers too, not just West, and was “disappointed” by how defensive she came across.
When Andy asked whether she and West had taken the next step and said “I love you,” Amanda initially responded, “Not really.” Pressed further, she confirmed they still haven’t — though the pair are now monogamous. (The reunion was filmed June 11.)
Danielle admitted she was disappointed and shocked to learn Amanda and West were still together.
“I honestly hate that you doubled down and are pursuing this relationship with him all the way, going to Italy with him,” Danielle said. “I know you had to make a decision one way or the other. I just wish, for you, that you would take some time just for yourself. Be alone.”
Amanda and West publicly revealed they were dating just two months after she and Kyle announced the end of their marriage, drawing criticism from fans because West had previously been romantically involved with Amanda’s friend, Ciara Miller. Bravo also recently announced that Amanda won’t return for season 11 of Summer House, which is currently filming.
Amanda went on to praise Kyle for supporting her through the backlash, despite their divorce.
“I’m eternally grateful for Kyle. I think it just shows how much we do have love for each other, and I think it’s something that we’ve made clear from the very beginning,” she said. “Unfortunately, we could not communicate, we could not get along in our marriage, but that doesn’t take away from the friendship and the love that we’ve had for each other this whole time. Which is also why, when we first separated, I was standing up for him because I didn’t want people to attack him. And I’m just really appreciative that he’s been there for me as well because if anyone knows each other better, it’s the two of us.”
Elsewhere, Kyle shared that he’s dating again and recently spent time with Southern Charm star Salley Carson, while Lindsay said she isn’t looking for anything serious.
The night’s most heated exchange, however, centered on Lindsay and Whitney, whose feud over Whitney’s “single mom card” comment exploded during last week’s finale.
During the finale, Whitney accused Lindsay of using the “single mom card” to get her way when she took the primary bedroom instead of giving it to Yvonne and Nick following the drama surrounding their wedding. Whitney also criticized Lindsay for having a nanny.
“I almost threw up watching this,” Lindsay said. “It was so much worse than it was explained to me.”
Despite Whitney’s repeated apologies, Lindsay wasn’t ready to forgive.
“I cried about what you said for six months. You’re gonna need about 15 more apologies to any mom in the entire world,” Lindsay fired back. “Really poor choice of words.”
Kenny defended Whitney, explaining earlier in the reunion that some of his actions throughout the season were influenced by grieving the loss of his mother.
“Lindsay, you collect apologies like you collect souls,” he said.
Gavin also clarified his earlier comments about Whitney, explaining that when he called her “boring” during the season, he was actually frustrated that she and Kenny were portraying their relationship as perfect while they were still working through issues behind the scenes.
Some arguments remained unresolved, and based on the preview for part two, the tension is only escalating. Based on the teaser trailer, next week’s reunion sees Amanda once again accuse Kyle of having an affair during their marriage — but this time, she claims she only recently learned about it.
The In the City reunion part two airs Tuesday, July 28, at 8 p.m. ET. All episodes of In the City are streaming on Peacock.
