Shaboozey to Make Comic-Con Debut for Comic Tied to New Album (Exclusive)

Shaboozey is headed to San Diego next week for his first Comic-Con appearance.

The Grammy winner will be onhand to promote his first comic book, The Outlaw Cherie Lee, a three-issue western from Range Comics, the graphic novel imprint backed by Range Media Partners. The comic is an outgrowth of Shaboozey’s upcoming album The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales, which bows July 31.

The Outlaw Cherie Lee comic arrives in stores Aug. 18, but will be available early at Comic-Con, where Shaboozey will participate in a signing at the Funko Booth on the show floor July 24 starting at 5:30 p.m. The musician created the story with Xaivia Inniss, while Robert Jeffrey II wrote the comic and Sean Damien Hill provided the art.

Shaboozey will also participate in a panel, hosted by Juju Green, the content crator known as Straw Hat Goofy, for a live edition of his iHeartRadio podcast, Get Rec’d With Straw Hat Goofy.

The artist is an eight-time Grammy nominee, and won his first earlier this year for best country/duo group performance for his work with Jelly Roll on “Amen.” Broke out in a big way with his hit 2024 “A Bar Song (Tipsy).”

San Diego Comic-Con runs from July 23-26, with Marvel Studios’ Saturday evening panel as among the anticipated highlights from this year’s con.
