Oh Thursday, Starz released what is is calling an “early teaser” as well as first-look images for the latest Power prequel series, which also sees the return of MeKai Curtis as (young) Kanan. (Power: Origins is the direct sequel series to Power Book III: Raising Kanan. Sascha Penn, who created and ran the writers room on Raising Kanan, will also showrun Power: Origins.)

Omari Hardwick and Joseph Sikora played Ghost (real name James St. Patrick) and Tommy, respectively, on the OG Power series. Season one of Power: Origins remains in production in New Jersey.

Power: Origins will cover the origin stories of Ghost and Tommy (and still Kanan) as “ambitious young entrepreneurs on the rise, determined to make their mark on the streets of New York City,” per Starz. Origins is the fourth spinoff in the Power franchise — a fifth, Power: Legacy, was recently greenlit at Starz. Sikora will reprise his role for that one, and Michael Rainey Jr. returns as Tariq St. Patrick, Ghost’s son.

The Power Universe series are executive produced by the creator and showrunner of the original Power, Courtney A. Kemp, through her production company, End of Episode. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson executive produces through G-Unit Film and Television, and Mark Canton does so through his Canton Entertainment. Chris Selak and Pete Chatmon also serve as executive producers on Power: Origins, which is produced by Lionsgate Television.

In TV order, the Power shows have gone: Power, Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, Power Book IV: Force, Power: Origins, and soon, Power: Legacy. In storyline, they go: Power Book III: Raising Kanan, Power: Origins, Power, Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book IV: Force, Power: Legacy. Hope that helps.
