The list of shows with exactly two Emmy nominations this year includes the final season of The Comeback, game shows Jeopardy! and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, best comedy series nominee Nobody Wants This, The Simpsons … and All’s Fair.

It’s probably fair to say that the Kim Kardashian-led Hulu series about divorce lawyers was not on many prognosticators’ Emmy radar. Its first season, which premiered in November, was widely panned by critics — though despite (or possibly partly because of) the negative attention, it performed reasonably well for Hulu. The Disney-owned streamer picked up a second season a few weeks after it premiered. Kardashian and other members of the show’s cast and creative team laughed off the bad reviews and later leaned into the idea that All’s Fair could be read as camp.

One thing that everyone seemed to agree on was that the show had an over-the-top style, and its two Emmy nominations reflect that. All’s Fair earned nods for best contemporary hairstyling and best contemporary makeup.

Its two nominations also tie All’s Fair with the all-time total for HBO’s The Wire. Despite being critically hailed as one of the best dramas of the 21st century, The Wire was lightly watched at the time and received only two Emmy nominations over five seasons, both for writing. (The fact that it overlapped with other HBO greats like The Sopranos, Six Feet Under and Deadwood also might have played a role in its largely being snubbed by Emmy voters.)

The two nominations for All’s Fair will be part of the Creative Arts Emmys on Sept. 5 and 6. The primetime ceremony, hosted by Mariska Hargitay, will air Sept. 14 on NBC.
