Netflix’s New Releases Coming in July 2026

Enola Holmes solving another mystery; more true crime horrors from Jason Blum; a step back in time with the Ingalls family; another behind-the-scenes look at the on and off field lives of NFL’s best; Will Ferrell channelling Kenny Powers; a lavish Korean historical drama; the Heartstopper finale; and the ubiquitous Kevin Hart’s latest comedy project are among the new film and TV highlights to hit Netflix in July.

Kicking off July is arguably Netflix’s big movie for the month, the third installment in the popular Enola Holmes franchise. Millie Bobby Brown returns as the titular character, the precocious younger sister of the world’s greatest detective Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill) in this period thriller. The first two Enola Holmes films relied on great casting and writer Jack Thorne’s (yep, the Adolescence guy) winning scripts and The Hollywood Reporter‘s critic feels the third installment pulls off the same trick. Directed by Adolescence helmer Philip Barantini, the cast also includes Louis Partridge, Himesh Patel, Sharon Duncan-Brewster and Helena Bonham Carter.

Also debuting on July 1 is the true crime docuseries Worst Neighbor Ever. The show is a spinoff of Netflix’s Worst Roommate Ever, and follows a similar structure in allowing real people to relay their horrific run-ins with their neighbors. Also produced by horror maestro Jason Blum, the logline for the show reads, “Through compelling testimonials, startling bodycam footage, and animated reenactments, Worst Neighbor Ever proves the people next door aren’t just a nuisance — they’re lethal.”

Laura Ingalls Wilder’s classic books Little House on the Prairie gets another TV adaptation, with Netflix debuting its version on July 9. The streamer is clearly very confident the show will be a hit as it has already renewed Little House for a second season, well before the premiere date of the first. As with the books, the series follows the lives of the Ingalls family, who live on a farm on Plum Creek near Walnut Grove, Minnesota, in the 1870s–1890s. Alice Halsey, Luke Bracey, Crosby Fitzgerald and Skywalker Hughes play the Ingalls family, with Jocko Sims, Warren Christie, Wren Zhawenim Gotts, Meegwun Fairbrother and Alyssa Wapanatâhk rounding out the cast.

July 14 will see the launch of the third season of Netflix’s popular sports docuseries Quarterback. The latest installment will follow NFL quarterbacks Jayden Daniels, Baker Mayfield, Cam Ward, and Joe Flacco and once again provide a fascinating and intimate behind-the-scenes look at their lives on and off the field during the 2025 season.

Did you love HBO’s Eastbound & Down? Well there’s a strong chance you’ll love Netflix’s The Hawk, which debuts on July 16. Will Ferell toplines this seemingly ridiculous and OTT sports comedy, playing Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins, a former champion golfer who has fallen from grace. Judging by the trailer, Lonnie has more than a passing resemblance to real life maverick golfer John Daly. The cast also includes comedy legends Molly Shannon, Fortune Feimster and Chris Parnell as well as the always great Luke Wilson (the second Wilson to star in a golf comedy series for a streamer).

THR‘s pick for breakout international series for Netflix in July is the Korean period drama The East Palace which drops on July 17. Per the logline, “The East Palace is the story of Gu-cheon, a man who can traverse the world of ghosts, and Saeng-gang, a court lady with a secret, as they are summoned by the King to unearth the cursed palace’s secrets.” Expect lavish costumes and production design as well as a compelling mystery and palace intrigue.

The Heartstopper saga comes to a close on July 17, with the feature film Heartstopper Forever. After three seasons, the movie serves as a finale to Charlie (Joe Locke) and Nick’s (Kit Connor) romance, which has to overcome the challenge of the boys going away to university and their love surviving long-distance. A fitting end for fans of the series, the film is directed Still Alice helmer Wash Westmoreland and is written by original Heartstopper author Alice Oseman.

Kevin Hart is back on Netflix! Again. And again. And again. If you’re a big Hart fan that’s great news, for others, not so much. Anyway, the ubiquitous comedian’s latest film for the streamer, 72 Hours, launches on July 24. The plot tells the story of “a forty-year-old executive [who] hopes to save his flailing career by joining a group of twenty-somethings on a wild three-day bachelor party, after he’s inadvertently added to their group text.” It’s not particularly deep, admittedly, but could kill an evening indoors. The film is directed by Ride Along‘s Tim Story and the film also stars Marcello Hernández, Mason Gooding, Kam Patterson, Ben Marshall, Zach Cherry, Michael Mando, Mike Epps and Teyana Taylor.

Movies added to Netflix in July include Hamnet, Memento, TÁR, Wicked: For Good, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, A Dog’s Journey, A Dog’s Purpose, A League of Their Own, Ali, Apollo 13, Baby Mama, The Beguiled, Born on the Fourth of July, The Boss Baby, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Donnie Brasco, Fargo, Gone Girl, Hellboy, High Fidelity, Krampus, Moneyball, Nomadland ,Queen & Slim, Ride Along, Ride Along 2, Sex Tape, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Talk to Me, U-571, The Vow, White Chicks, The Witch, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, The Hunger Games, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, Scream, Scream 2 and Scream 3.
