Amazon Hires Matt Schwimmer to Lead Creator Business Development

Matt Schwimmer has joined Amazon’s Creator Services team to lead creator business development for podcasts including New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, Armchair Expert and more.

Schwimmer comes to the team after working at sports podcast company Better Collective as the chief executive of Playmaker, a sports media platform, and senior vice president of global talent-led media, which includes podcasts such as The Big Podcast with Shaquille O’Neal, Roommates with Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart and Club Shay Shay.

The creator services team was formed after Amazon reorganized Wondery, with creator-led shows going to the newly formed Creator Services team. The team now includes shows such as New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce and Armchair Expert joining the Baby, this is Keke Palmer and Mind the Game with Lebron James and Steve Nash, with the goal of integrating the shows across Amazon. The Oprah Podcast was recently announced as a new addition to the portfolio, alongside her book club and favorite things franchise.

In a new role, Schwimmer oversees the strategy, sourcing, and execution of creator partnerships, which includes expanding the team’s portfolio and finding opportunities for creators to work across Amazon’s ecosystem. He began in the new role in June, reporting to Matt Sandler, general manager of creator services.
